What You Will Learn

Create a rate sheet containing standard hourly charges.

Getting Started

What is a Labour Rate Sheet?

Labour Rate Sheets are use to store your standard labour rates - the hourly rates that you charge your customer. The Labour Rate Sheet can be used to define any type of labour. Labour rates can be classified by employee, by type of employee (i.e. Master Plumber, Apprentice, etc) or by type of labour or job phase (i.e. Rough-in, Finish, etc). Using a Labour Rate Sheet makes it faster and easier to add labour to a job.

 Creating a Labour Rate Sheet

1 Click on the Labour tab. The following window is displayed:

2 To define a new Labour Rate Sheet, click on the Labour Rate Sheet Add button (upper as above).

3 The Add Labour Rate Sheet Description dialog box will appear:

4 Enter a new labour rate sheet description (i.e. GENERAL LABOUR). Click on the Ok button to accept your
changes or click on the Cancel button to discard your changes.

5 You will now see the name of your new labour rate sheet in the Labour Rate Sheet:

6 In the Labour Rate Sheet table, select the labour rate sheet that you just added and then click on the Add button
next to the lower Labour Description table as shown below:

7 A dialog box will appear which you can use to define your new labour rate class. Complete this dialog box and
click on the Ok button when you are ready to accept your changes and continue.

The Labour Rate Class can be used to define an employee by name, a type of employee (i.e. Master Plumber, Apprentice, etc) or a type of labour or job phase (i.e. Rough-in, Finish, etc). In fact, you can specify any type of labour.

The Cost per hour field is your standard labour rate in dollars per hour for this type of labour. This is the rate that you charge your customer.

8 At this point you should be looking at the Rates window with the Labour tab displayed. Your new rate class
definition should be in the Labour Description table as the first entry as shown below:

9 If you wish, continue adding more rate classes to this labour rate sheet.
