 Adding Labour to the Worksheet

The right side of the worksheet window will look something like this:

4 The Direct Labour View is used to itemize the different types of labour, the labour charges and the labour hours involved in this job.

Labour for a job can be organized in any way that you wish. For example, you can itemize labour by the people working on the job or the qualifications of the workers (apprentice, master plumber etc) or by job step or phase.

Click on the Add Blank toolbar button to add a blank line to the Labour table.

5 Enter the name of an employee who will work on this job. Press the Enter key.

6 Type the dollars per hour that you will be charging your customer for this type of labour into the Cost/Hr field. Press the Enter key.

7 Enter the number of man-hours for this labour type in the Hours Allocated field. Press Enter.

The total labour charge for this type of labour will be shown in the Ext. Cost (Extended Cost) field.

8 If you have created a Labour Rate Sheet (see Lesson 8), you can use the Add Rate toolbar button to add standard labour types and charges to the Labour table.

Press the Add Rate button to open the Select Direct Labour window.

The Select Direct Labour window shows the available Labour Rate Sheets.

9 Click on the General Labour rate sheet that we created in Lesson 8.

10 Highlight the Labour Rate to be added to the worksheet – in this case EMPLOYEE 1.

Press the Ok button.

The Labour Description and charge will be added to the Labour table.

11 Double click on the Hours Allocated field for EMPLOYEE 1.

 Using Labour Units

If you have assigned Labour Units to items in the Catalogue or if you have entered Labour Units on the Worksheet Material Extensions Labour tab, Winpriser will calculate the total man-hours based on your labour units. This total is shown by labour system in the lower left corner of the Labour table.

A red light beside a labour system indicates that not all worksheet items have labour units. A green light shows that all items are coded with labour units.

Winpriser does not attempt to sub-divide the total man-hours based on labour units or assign labour charges.

Use the total labour unit man-hours as a guide as you assign labour types, charges and man-hours to the job as in the lesson steps above.

Using Job Summary View to Finalize Job Pricing

The Job Summary Worksheet View allows you to total materials and labor pricing and to add extra charges and/or overall markups. The result is the overall job price.

12 Select the Job Summary worksheet view from the list of available views:

The Job Summary view looks like this:

13 The material pricing for the job can be based on total Allpriser List, total Resale price, total Net price or total Trade price.
